KARACHI, May 16: The workers of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board have said that if the show-cause notices issued to over 250 of their co-workers were not withdrawn within three days, they would be free to decide the future line of action.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, leaders of the KW&SB Mazdoor Union also announced to organize a demonstration to press for their demands at the Press Club on May 20.

They said that the management was misusing the Presidential Ordinance 2000, and blackmailing and victimizing workers.

They further demanded that all those workers who had been reinstated by the Supreme Court recently be taken back into the organization immediately.

They demanded that a proper inquiry be instituted into the murders of two KW&SB employees, Riaz Jokhio (Dhabeji) and Lala Hayat (Hub Dam).

Munawwar Raza (President) and Rahim Awan (General Secretary) also spoke.
