KARACHI, May 16: To mark the occasion of the World Biodiversity Day 2002, the Goethe-Institut and IUCN Sindh Program Office have jointly organized a three-day film festival, says a press release.

The film package, “Humans and the Environment”, presents films that have originated from Pakistan, Germany, Brazil, Indonesia and the Philippines. They portray the diversity of problems.

The festival would be inaugurated by the federal minister for environment, local government and rural development, Shahida Jamil, and keynote address on the role of media in awareness raising would be made by Javed Jabbar on Tuesday in a local hotel.

After the inauguration of this film festival on the eve of the World Biodiversity Day, a panel discussion with film-showing will be held at the Goethe-Institut on Wednesday at 6.30pm.
