LONDON, Feb 18: The euro fell against the dollar on Wednesday as concern mounted on the ill health of European banks and a fall in the value of currencies in Central and Eastern Europe, dealers said.

The euro was changing hands in London at $1.2531 compared to $1.2585 late on Tuesday. But the European single currency gained against the Japanese yen, rising to 117.49 yen from 116.31 yen on Tuesday. The dollar also rose to 93.8 yen from 92.39 yen.—AFP
