BANNU, Feb 9: A suicide bomber rammed his explosives-laden pick-up into a police checkpoint on the Baran Pul in Miramshah, five kilometres from Bannu on Monday. Eighteen security personnel were injured in the blast.

The checkpoint, manned by 35 FC and policemen, was completely destroyed.

The injured were taken to Bannu DHQ hospital and one seriously injured FC soldier was taken to Peshawar.

Meanwhile, police arrested a man while he was planting explosives near the Lwara Pul police checkpost.
