NEW DELHI, Jan 31: Indian Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday denied reported suggestions that Pakistan had briefed New Delhi on its findings in the Mumbai terror investigations and said India was still waiting for the report.

In a statement, Mr Mukherjee confirmed that Pakistan’s High

Commissioner Shahid Malik had met Home Minister P. Chidambaram on Thursday but described it as a courtesy call. He did not provide any details on the results of the investigation in Pakistan into the Mumbai attacks.

The Indian government had seen media reports about statements by various Pakistani officials on their ongoing investigations, including a certain reported clarification by the Pakistani Prime Minister, Mr Mukherjee lamented.

I would like to underline that we have so far not received any official Pakistani response to the Indian dossier or official information on the outcome of their investigations. These are awaited, he said.

APP adds: Indian Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor said on Saturday his forces were fully prepared to do whatever the national leadership would like us to act.

I can say without any iota of doubt. We are fully prepared whatever the national leadership would like us to do or achieve, Gen Kapoor told reporters in Srinagar.

Gen Kapoor, who reviewed various operational plans with top army officers in occupied Kashmir, said infiltration from across the LoC was not possible at this part of the season because known routes through mountain passes had been closed due to snow.

When asked about tension on the Line of Control in the wake of Mumbai attacks, he said tension post-Mumbai attack was definitely there.
