ISLAMABAD, May 14: Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid-i-Azam) has invited applications from the party members interested in contesting provincial and national assembly elections on the party’s tickets.

The decision to invite applications from the potential candidates was taken by the Central Executive Committee of the party on Monday.

The applications for award of party tickets to the women candidates and the technocrats would be invited later, party spokesman Azeem Chaudhry said.

The committee in its meeting decided to contact all its potential candidates asking them to apply for the party ticket and provide the party central secretariat with their bio data and the copies of certificates and degrees of their qualifications.

The fee of the party ticket to contest National Assembly seat is Rs25,000 and for a provincial assembly ticket Rs20,000 have to be paid. All the candidates aspiring for the party tickets are required to submit their application on a prescribed form to the party offices in the provincial capitals or the party secretariat here before June 25.

A senior member of the party said the process of inviting applications and awarding tickets to the candidates would take some time and the PML(QA) would like to field candidates with clean political record.
