KARACHI, Jan 25: The first convocation of the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology will be held at its Gulshan-i-Iqbal campus on Jan 26.
According to an official announcement, Federal Education Minister Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani will be chief guest. Seven hundred degrees, including nine PhD and three MPhil degrees, will be awarded during the convocation. Besides, 12 gold medals will be awarded to students.
BDS, MBBS exams
The University of Karachi has announced that BDS and MBBS final professional annual examinations-2009 will commence from Feb 2 and 16, respectively.
New block
A new block of the university’s physics department will be inaugurated on Monday. Vice-Chancellor of Karachi University Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui will be chief guest at the inaugural ceremony.
KU lecture
Meanwhile, the faculty of pharmacy will organise a programme on “Lung Cancer” on Jan 31 at 10am at Sheikh Zayed Islamic Centre. Dr Adnan Ali Zaidi, a medical oncologist of Aga Khan University Hospital, will deliver the keynote address.—Agencies
