ISLAMABAD, Jan 24: The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has launched a fast-track service to facilitate the applicants willing to pay for an urgent service.

The service has been launched for those who want to avoid long queues at the Nadra Swift Registration Centres (NSRCs). The service was planned after the successful operation of a pilot project at Lahore, which was launched on Nov 24. More than 600 people got themselves registered at Lahore under the pilot project in two months while paying higher fees.

So far, Nadra has activated the fast-track service at 37 NSRCs in Islamabad, Peshawar, Lahore, Multan, Quetta and Karachi. More than 1,000 citizens have been registered in four days under the new service.

Applicants using this service will submit their forms along with a fee of Rs1,000, overseas Pakistanis in the Middle East with Rs3,000 and in the rest of the world with a fee of Rs5,000.

Home delivery of cards will be made at a fee of Rs100 inland and Rs500 abroad.

An amount of five hundred rupees will be charged for Child Registration Certificates under this scheme.

The delivery period will be the same as in the regular procedure. However, the application time will be shortened.

The fast-track service will take traffic away from normal channel, thus making it convenient for all applicants.

The revenue earned through this initiative will be utilised to improve the services provided to regular applicants, said a statement.
