KARACHI, Jan 19: As many as 26 vehicles – 10 automobiles and 16 motorbikes – and 36 cellular phones were taken away by the evening on Monday in different parts of the city.

Officials at the Citizen-Police Liaison Committee told Dawn that six cars were snatched at gunpoint in the police limits of Shah Latif Town, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Sharah-i-Noorjahan and Sharea Faisal.

They said car thieves took away four automobiles in the police jurisdictions of Nazimabad, Mithadar, Preedy and Sharea Faisal.

The officials said three motorcycles were snatched at gunpoint and 13 motorbikes were stolen in different areas.

Besides, the officials said, 19 cellular phones were snatched at gunpoint and 17 others were stolen in different parts of the city.

They said 16 cars, 30 motorcycles and 45 mobile phones were taken away on Sunday.
