TIMERGARA, Jan 16: Chief of Tehrik Nifaz-i-Shariat-i-Muhammadi (TNSM) Maulana Sufi Mohammad has denied a report published in a section of the press that TNSM’s Swat committee supported the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).

Talking to journalists at his protest camp here on Friday, Maulana Sufi Muhammad said none of his organisation’s representative participated in the consultative meeting of the Council of Islamic Ideology held in Islamabad, the other day, nor conveyed any message on behalf of the organisation.

“This is not the stand of the TNSM. It has conveyed a wrong message and we disown it,” said the Maulana. He said that if someone had expressed his views about the BISP, it would be his personal opinion and not of the organisation.
