KARACHI, Jan 14: The vice-chancellor of Karachi University, Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, has constituted a committee for the introduction of a quality assurance programme in colleges affiliated with the university.

According to an official announcement made on Wednesday, director of the KU quality enhancement cell, chairman of the Karachi University Business School and principals of JMDC, Sir Syed Government Girls College and Defence School of Business Education are members of the committee.

For implementation of the self-assessment programme in the affiliated colleges, a meeting was convened by dean of the faculty of management and administrative sciences Dr Abuzar Wajidi at his office on Wednesday.

The meeting discussed various modalities to improve teaching standards of colleges.

It was decided that the programme would initially be introduced in a few colleges and would be expanded gradually to cover other colleges. Dr Wajidi said the step would support Karachi University’s efforts for improving quality of teaching in colleges.—APP
