KARACHI, Jan 13: Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza has appreciated the performance of security officials and police during Ashura and directed the home secretary to prepare proposals for the chief minister’s approval to grant one-month salary to these officials as a reward.

Presiding over a meeting attended by additional chief secretary for finance, home secretary and high officials of the police on Tuesday, he asked the Sindh IG police to finalise arrangements for recruitment of constables within the next 15 days. He also reviewed various schemes for policemen and asked the additional chief secretary to make an early decision on the schemes pending with the relevant departments.—PPI
