Protest against Israeli attacks

QUETTA, Jan 12: The PML-N organised a demonstration here on Monday in protest against Israeli attacks on Gaza.

Activists of the party assembled outside the press club and raised slogans against Israel and the United Sates and called upon the Muslim world to unite to stop the Israeli aggression.

Party leaders Khuda Noor Khan, Ayaz Swati and Akbar Khan Kharoti criticised the government for remaining a silent spectator to Israeli atrocities.

HUNGER STRIKE: The naib nazim of a union council has threatened to observe a hunger strike till death to force the government to carry out a fresh survey of areas affected by the recent earthquake and to ensure transparency of the rehabilitation programme.

Addressing a press conference at a hunger strike camp set up outside the press club, Saifur Rehman of Rodmalazai said he had been observing a token hunger strike for 15 days but the government had not taken notice of his protest.

He said that from Tuesday he would observe an indefinite hunger strike.

MISSING MAN: BSO leaders Zahid Baloch and Nawaz Baloch have said they will hold rallies in Quetta, Tump and Turbat if the government fails to trace missing BSO member Iqbal Baloch by January 15. Addressing a press conference here on Monday, they said Iqbal Baloch had been missing since March 2007.
