KHAIRPUR, Jan 7: The mother of a kidnapped youth protested before Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Health Dr Mehreen Bhutto in Gambat on Wednesday, seeking her help for the recovery of her son.

During Dr Mehreen’s visit to Gambat, an ailing woman complained to her about police failure to recover her son Tariq Kolachi and his friends Karim Dino Ghumro, Sikandar Sehto and Abdul Qadir Sehto, who were kidnapped from the Gambat area two months ago.

She said that the area police were keeping her on false hopes but taking no action to recover the kidnap victims. Dr Mehreen told the woman that she would talk to police authorities about the kidnapping case and also approach the Sindh home minister in this regard.

RAID: The chief engineer of Sukkur Barrage and the DCO of Khairpur during a visit to Hingorja on Wednesday raided a place where some people were collecting mud from the banks of Samaj minor canal and loading it on a tractor trolley.

The officials caught tractor driver Zameer Hussain Solangi and labourers Gul Mohammad, Mohammad Ashraf, Liaquat Ali and Shahmir Sehto and handed them over to police.
