JACOBABAD, Jan 5: A thief was arrested from Ghulam Sarwar village near Kandhkot on Monday after an exchange of fire with villagers.

Early morning, armed men barged into the house of Noor Hassan Behlkani and tried to take away with them four buffaloes.

However, inmates of the house opened fire at them. In the meantime, villagers also reached there and an exchange of fire took place. Villagers caught one Manthar Ogahi with Kalashnikov while his accomplices fled. Later B-section police on arrival took the bandit to police station.

Noor Hassan Behlkani lodged an FIR against eight people, Manthar Ogahi and seven unknown with the B-section police.

Four, including two women Zarbakht, Taj Bibi and Noor Hassan, Abdullah were injured during the exchange of fire.

ACCIDENT: A man was killed in a collision between tractor and truck on the National Highway in Abad area on Monday.

Ghulam Jan Pathan was sitting on the tractor loaded with wood. Suddenly a speedy truck hit the tractor as a result he was seriously injured.

He died on way to hospital.

No FIR was lodged till the filing of this report.

Meanwhile, a man was killed by his cousins over matrimonial dispute in the Mouladad area on Monday.

Khan Mohammad was on way when four men fired at him and fled. Khan Mohammad died on the spot.

The body was taken to Civil Hospital Jacobabad for autopsy.
