KARACHI : New KU session begins

KARACHI, Jan 5: A new academic session commenced at the University of Karachi on Monday with the orientation day, held at all departments, according to a KU spokesman.

New entrants were briefed by the chairmen of respective departments about the facilities to be made available to them at the institution. They were also apprised of the rules and regulations of the university.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui’s statement welcoming the new students was also read out.

“Immense opportunities of access to knowledge are available in the present day era and students should take full advantage of these in order to equip themselves with the required capabilities to make rapid progress,” the statement said.

Evening programme

Directorate of the KU evening programme has announced the second list of candidates seeking admission to the BS, Pharm D, MBA, BSCS and BSSE programmes.

A statement issued on Monday said that the enlisted candidates may deposit fee on Jan 6, 9 and 10.

Meanwhile, matters pertaining to degree classes would be discussed at a meeting of principals of the colleges affiliated with the University of Karachi at 11am in the Arts auditorium on Jan 14, a KU spokesman said on Monday. —APP
