LARKANA, Jan 3: The District Bar Association Larkana (DBA) Larkana has endorsed the Sindh government’s decision of recruiting judicial officers through the Sindh Public Service Commission.

A spokesman for the DBA Larkana here on Saturday said that these appointments were in line with the rules and regulations equally applied in all the four provinces of the country.

The government’s decision was in accordance with the sprit of the 1973 constitution, he said. The DBA urged people to desist from unnecessary criticism of the government as the present government had initiated numerous development works.

JUI: The general secretary of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI) Sindh, Senator Dr Khalid Mehmood Soomro, criticised the government for its utter failure in addressing the issue of electricity shortage in the country.

In a press statement issued here on Saturday, he said that the people of Pakistan were braving the worst-ever power outages. He said that it was quite uncalled for that out of 24 hours the Wapda resorted to 20 hours of load- shedding whereas the villages remained in total darkness. He said the government had now started gas load- shedding thereby further complicating the situation.

He said amidst this situation people were surviving against sky-rocketing prices, worsening law and order situation and murder of merit in jobs. He said that the rulers had left the voters to face the worst situation, who had propelled them to power were busy saving its chair instead of solving their basic problems.
