KARACHI, May 13: Dr Ishtiaq Hussain Qureshi Chair at Karachi University will be restored and necessary funds will be allocated for the purpose.

This was announced by Karachi University vice-chancellor Dr Zafar Saeed Saify on Monday while speaking at a reception hosted on the occasion of the rejoining of the university by one of its former VCs, Dr Manzooruddin Ahmed.

Dr Saify said there was a need for holding an international seminar in recognition of the services rendered by late Dr Ishtiaq Hussain Qureshi in the realms of education.

He also spoke of the key role of the teachers towards the betterment of society.

He pointed out that Dr Qureshi during his tenure as vice-chancellor had picked up competent teachers and hired their services for the university.

Dr Saify recounted the contributions of Dr Qureshi during his long association with Karachi University.—APP
