QUETTA, Dec 31: Speakers at a seminar have called for a transparent process of distribution of compensation payment and relief in the earthquake-affected areas of Ziarat, Bostan and Kanmetherzai.

The seminar was held at the press club on Wednesday was attended by local leaders of different political parties.

Speakers said the government’s performance had dissatisfied the affected families.

They demanded action against officials involved in malpractices in distribution of relief goods.

The seminar adopted a resolution calling upon the government to accept the demands of the affected people who have set up hunger strike camps in Quetta.

Those who spoke at the seminar included Maulana Qadir Luni of the JUI-Ideological, Dr Nizamuddin of JUI (Fazl), Syed Taj Agha, chairman of Anjuman-i-Tajran Balochistan, Noorullah Khan of Jamhoori Watan Party, Faqir Agha of Pakistan Jamhoori Tehrik, Nasibullah Khan of Kakar Jamhoori Party and Malik Qasim of Pakhtun Students Federation.
