Hunger strike

MITHI, Dec 29: Members of Meghwar community observed token hunger strike outside the press club here on Monday to protest against the kidnapping of a young girl from Mithrio Halepoto village, Nagarparkar taluka.

They demanded of the higher authorities to ensure recovery of the kidnapped girl, Chandri Bai, and action against her kidnappers who, they said, were threatening her relatives with dire consequences.

Local PPP leader Amar Udani, alleged that the kidnappers were threatening the kidnap victim’s relatives with dire consequences.

Comrade Bherulal Soothar, general secretary, PPP, Mithi city chapter, said that the kidnapping of the girl by influential people had created resentment among the Meghwar community.
