LANDI KOTAL, Dec 29: A tribal elder was shot dead by his rivals in Malagori area of Jamrud tehsil on Monday, sources said.
The tribal elder, Malak Mohammad Saleh, was on his way to home after attending a jirga when his armed rivals ambushed his vehicle. Sources said that the elder died on the spot.
Family sources said that they had an old land dispute with their rivals. Malak Mohammad Saleh was attacked and killed after the expiry of a ceasefire brokered by a local jirga few months ago between the two groups.
