GUJRANWALA, Dec 28: Naushehra Virkan police on Sunday claimed to have recovered a Karachi-based woman and her daughter who were abducted four years ago. However, the woman’s husband has not been traced so far.

Nazir Masih of Karachi met Gujranwala Deputy Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema in his office and informed him that some people of his own community kidnapped his son Khadim, daughter-in-law Uzma and granddaughter Kiran from his house in Korangi four years ago and took them to Naushehra Virkan and they were still there.

He said Korangi police registered a case against Shafiq, Johnson, Ashiq and Nasir, but neither arrested them nor recovered his family members.

The DIG ordered Naushehra Virkan police to arrest the accused and recover those abducted. Police raided the hideout of the accused in Kotli Manso village and arrested accused Shafiq and Johnson and recovered Uzma and Kiran. However, there was no clue to Khadim.

Nazir fears his son has been killed by his abductors.

The DIG directed the Naushehra Virkan police to trace Khadim or his body and hand those recovered to their family through Korangi police. Finally, the alleged abductors and those recovered were handed to Korangi police.
