LAHORE, Dec 27: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has announced the names of coaches, who will select players for the 11 academies being set up by the federation to groom the players.

Boys U-14, 15 and 16 will appear in the trials, which will be held across the country from Jan 1 to 7.

The chief selector in Punjab is Anjum Saeed who will be assisted by Shabbir Ahmad, Akhlaq Ahmad, Gulraiz Sheikh and Khalid Rasool.

In Sindh, Wasim Feroz has been named as the chairman with Mumtaz Hyder and Mohammad Khalid as the members.

Naeem Akhtar will be the head of selectors in NWFP, while Zia Banuri, Rahim Khan and Mussadiq Khan are the members.

In Balochistan, the current member of the Pakistan team Zeeshan Ashraf is the chief selector. Shakeel Abbasi, another Pakistan player along with Ghulam Jillani will select the boys.

In Bahawalpur, the trials begin on Jan 1, where Hidayatullah Khan, Mohammad Arshad and Mohammad Taimur are the coaches.

At Lahore, the trials will be held on Jan 2 with Qasim Khan, Rana Mohammad Zaheer and Mujahid Afzal acting as coaches.

The schedule for other cities is as follows:

Jan 1: Peshawar (Mussadaq Hussain, Rahim Khan, Zia Banuri).

Jan 2-3 Quetta (Zeeshan Ashraf, Ghulam Jillani, Mujahid Butt).

Jan 3: Faisalabad (Shahzad Chishti, Rana Khalid Iqbal, Almas Siddiqi).

Jan 3: Karachi (for academy No.1, Saleem Sherwani, Jan Mohammad, Mohammad Ali) and for academy No. 2 (Asif Ahmad, Safdar Abbas, Mohammad Anis).

Jan 3: Bannu (Anwar Rasheed, Shafqatullah, Nazir Gul).

Jan 4: Gojra (M. Aslam Roda, Khawar Javed, Mohammad Arshad).

Jan 5: Hyderabad (Abdul Ghafoor, Ihtesham Ali Warsi, Iftikhar Ahmed).

Jan 5: Abbotabad (Arshad Munir, Riasat Ali, Mudassar Khan).

Jan 6: Sialkot (Ajmal Khan, Tariq Sheikh, Sabir Ali).
