Published December 28, 2008

LAHORE, Dec 27: Minister for Railways Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour had to wait for around two hours in Lahore on Friday night owing to ‘failure’ of the locomotives of the train he was scheduled to board.

The saloon for Haji Bilour was to be attached with Peshawar Cantt-bound Khyber Mail (1-Up). It left Karachi Cantt on time but near Padidan station on the Nawabshah and Rohri junction, its locomotive stopped functioning.

The substitute locomotive took one hour and 40 minutes to reach the spot and after five minutes or so the train resumed its journey.

Khyber Mail was scheduled to arrive at Lahore at 9.25pm but reached at 11.30pm.

The saloon was attached to the train after its arrival and it left Lahore 30 minutes later.

The train reached Peshawar Cantt three hours late than its scheduled time of

7.15am.
