SIALKOT, Dec 27: Six family members were injured seriously in a gas cylinder explosion in a house in Ban Phatak locality along Kingra Road here early on Saturday.

Reports said the family of Manzoor Ahmad was using the gas cylinder to keep the room warm, but it filled with gas due to leakage in the cylinder.

A big explosion occurred when Ahmad’s wife Maqsooda tried to light the gas cylinder, caving in the roof of the room.

Consequently, Salman, Saira, Kiran, Maqsooda Bibi, Manzur and Yaqub suffered serious injuries.

The area people pulled them out of the debris and shifted them to the DHQ Hospital in critical condition.

The blast was so severe that window glasses of dozens of nearby houses were shattered.

It was the third gas cylinder explosion in the Sialkot district during the last four days in which an elderly woman and an infant were killed and eight others were injured seriously.
