HYDERABAD, Dec 26: DPO Hyderabad Ghulam Nabi Memon here on Friday presided over a meeting of scholars and representatives of different Shia organisations to discuss security arrangements during Muharramul Haram.

He told the meeting that the police had chalked out a foolproof security plan under which more than 3,000 police personnel would be deployed at 94 imambargahs, 783 venues of majalis and 154 mourning processions.

He said that 47 points had been declared sensitive while entry of 14 scholars had been banned.

He said that 40 surveillance cameras had been installed and 58 police pickets had been established while police would also be deployed at 450 multi-storey buildings.

He said that the Rangers would also perform security duties. Participants of the meeting including Dr Farooq Memon, Moulana Taj Mohammad Nahiyoon, Gulshan Illahi, Nizamul Hyderi and others offered extension of full cooperation to the police to maintain law and order during Muharram.
