NEW DELHI, Dec 25: India’s Anti-Terrorism Squad recorded the statement of a former colleague of Lt-Col Shrikant Purohit in the Military Intelligence on Thursday and he will be made a prosecution witness in the Malegaon blast case.

Reports quoting an official of the anti-terrorism squad said that precautions had been taken to ensure that the statement was admissible in court.

The squad has arrested 10 people, including Purohit, in connection with Malegaon blast case.

Lt-Col Purohit has been charged with procuring RDX and attending several meetings in Deolali to make plans for the blast. He has also been accused of using RDX in the Samjhauta train blast.

Eight people were killed in blasts outside a mosque in Malegaon.—APP
