MIRPURKHAS, Dec 24: Mirpurkhas DCO Abdul Rahim Soomro has directed the judicial magistrates to take immediate action against fertiliser dealers involved in black marketing and hoarding and cancel their licenses as they have defamed the government and created hardship for growers.

He said that Sindh chief minister had directed strict action against black marketers and ensure sale of fertilisers on government-fixed rates. He stated this while presiding over a meeting of officers of revenue and agriculture departments and representatives of fertiliser dealers and growers.

According to a handout issued here on Wednesday, DCO asked the fertiliser dealers to maintain proper records of sale and purchase of fertilisers and submit report to EDO agriculture, EDO revenue and DPO Mirpurkhas on daily basis. He said that companies were supplying fertiliser in required quantity and dealers should sell it at the govt-fixed price.

PPP leaders questioned why the fertiliser dealers were black mailing the growers and asked the growers to point out those dealers who were demanding an additional amount.
