LAHORE, Dec 24: Dairy Development Board Chief Executive Officer Dr Muhammad Afzal has stressed the need for adopting modern practices to maximise dairy produce.
Delivering a lecture on ‘Dairy Farming’ here on Wednesday, he said the corporate dairy farming sector could maximise its productivity by using modern practices of feeding, health, nutrition, management, reproduction and marketing prevalant in the developed world, especially Australia.
The Directorate of Research of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore, arranged the lecture.
Veterinary Sciences Dean Prof Dr Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry said Pakistan had a diverse dairy farming system, but it could benefit from the good farming practices of the developed world.
Director Research Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad said the UVAS Research Directorate had started a series of scholarly lectures in order to update the knowledge and skills of the faculty members and postgraduate students.—APP
