FAISALABAD, Dec 24: The district government has earmarked the land adjacent to the General Hospital in Ghulam Mohammadabad for the drug testing laboratory announced by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

This was decided in a meeting held here on Wednesday with Divisional Commissioner Zahid Saeed in the chair. Officials of different departments also attended the meeting to review the status of projects announced by the chief minister during his recent visit of the district.

The participants were informed that efforts were stepped up for instituting the drug testing laboratory and the land had been allotted for this purpose.

They were further informed that the dental college would also be set up at the Punjab Medical College.

The meeting was also told that 32 out of 36 solid waste points had been cleared by the department concerned. A state land being used as a solid waste point in Hajiabad will soon be converted into a public park.

EDO (health) Dr Siddique told the meeting that maps had been prepared for the up-gradation of the General Hospital and work would be started after approval of the plan.

The commissioner directed his subordinates to remove all hurdles in the way of completion of projects announced by the chief minister.
