MINGORA, Dec 20: The Ayub Bridge connecting upper Swat, including different areas of Kabal and Matta, with Mingora was reopened for all sorts of traffic on Saturday.

However, the Khwazakhela road, which is blocked near the Sangota area, is yet to be reopened for traffic.

The people of the area cover the distance on foot along the bank of the River Swat.

The Ayub bridge which links Mingora and Khanju was closed for all kinds of traffic on Dec 4 after a suicide blast that destroyed a major portion of the bridge.

However, on Dec 11 light vehicles were permitted to cross the bridge, but the flow of heavy traffic remained banned.

The main road passing near the security forces’ base camp in Kabal was also opened for traffic after three months’ closer.
