Razzaq finds net twice

KARACHI, May 12: A second half winner by Abdul Razzaq gave Young Greens a narrow 3-2 victory over Faqir Mohammadan in the All-Pakistan inter-club football tournament at Baloch Mujahid Stadium Sunday.

After a barren first half, Faqir Mohammadan broke the deadlock with a 40th-minute goal, while Imtiaz Sattar doubled the lead three minutes later.

Young Greens’ Jawaid Ali reduced the margin four minutes later. Razzaq not only nodded home the equaliser in the 54th minute, but wrapped up the game with a 68th-minute match-winner.

Pak Asian drubbed Young Soldiers 3-1 in a match that saw both the sides reduced to ten players four minutes before the half time.

Mohammad Shahid opened the Young Soldiers account with a 23rd-minute goal. Both the teams played with ten players after 41st minute as Pak Asian’s Amir Ilyas and Young Soldiers’ Mohammad Ali got their second yellow cards.

Adnan Ashfaq (46th, 49th minutes) pumped in a two-goal burst and Waseemuddin Ahmad completed the rout in the 55th minute.

Mohammad Kamran netted the winner in the 12th minute that enabled Azamnagar edge past MES 1-0, while Mohammad Saleem slammed home in the 46th minute in Meher Sports identical margin win against Sultanabad Union.
