KHANEWAL, Dec 19: Six revenue officials suspended on the recommendations of the Multan Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) two weeks ago are still holding their offices, it is learnt.
The ACE registered criminal cases against Naib Tehsildar Manzoor Husain and patwaris Waseem Ahmad, Azmat Shah, Mushtaq Husain and Zulqernain Shah and Qanungo Muhammad Iqbal two months ago.
The Revenue Department, sources said, received reports from the Multan ACE against the officials and suspended them from their service about two weeks ago.
Sources claimed the officials who had to replace the officials remained unable to get the charge as the suspended officials managed to hold their offices because of alleged political influence.
Sources said Patwari Azmat Shah is posted at 42-A/10-R despite the fact he was suspended because of a corruption case registered against him on Nov 5. After his suspension, the department posted Muhammad Ramzan in the village through a letter No1076-79-HC/DDO-R on Dec 1, 2008.
Sources claimed that Ramzan met Shah to get the charge several times but he refused to do so.
Khanewal District Coordination Officer Qazi Muhammad Ashfaq said he had received no complaint from anyone regarding the issue of charge.
He denied any political influence in the matter.
