KARACHI, Dec 17: Six ships carrying steel and general cargo and to load cement are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was fairly active where 11 vessels berthed to clear the backlog.

They are; OBS Swathy, and Adriatic Arrow to load cement, Faisal and Myong San to offload sulphur, and Anton Topic to unload coal.

They were followed by Hanjin Qingdao, Harmony, Hyundai Qingdao, APL Zircon,Y M Milano, and H&H Tide, with containers.

Seven ships, Banga Lanka, Evi, Deja Bhum, Kota Hapas, Sime Pride, Lucky Arrow and Cap Colorado departed on Wednesday, while Sari, Harmony, YM Milano, Hyundai Qingdao, Adriatic Arrow, Hanjin Qingdao, Myong San, H&H Tide and Anton Topic are due to sail out on Thursday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves showed a sharp rise at 0.128m tons, comprising 22,805 tons of export cargo and 0.105 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Dina Queen and Hua Seng, to load 10,500 and 6,000 tons of cement, Sima Yazd, and TS Duba, with cointainers, Eastern Forties, with general cargo and Suez Express, with steel cargo.
