Criminals want to tame me: DPO

Published December 15, 2008

LARKANA, Dec 14: The kidnapping of a petrol pump owner, Shoaib Shaikh, from the outskirts of Larkana on Saturday night was a targeted act of criminals, said DPO Irfan Baloch.

Talking to this correspondent here on Sunday, the DPO said that the kidnappers wanted to pressurised him by such incidents but they would fail and added that the gang of kidnappers was identified and soon they would be arrested and the kidnap victim would reach home.

It is learnt that the gagsters had also committed a crime about a fortnight ago on same route, when they had kidnapped one and killed another. However the kidnapping of Shoaib Shiakh has sent shockwaves among the businessmen here as Shaikhs dominate the business in Larkana.

Sindh Law Minister Ayaz Soomro and the Larkana DIG visited the house of the kidnapped victim Shoaib Shaikh on late Saturday night in Dari mohalla and assured them of early and safe recovery of the kidnap victim.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah telephoned father of the kidnap victim, Qurban Shiakh, and assured him of early recovery of his son.
