US, UK backing Jundullah: Iran

Published December 14, 2008

TEHRAN, Dec 13: Iran has documents to prove the United States and Britain back a group that killed 16 kidnapped Iranian policemen, state radio reported on Saturday.

Iran said this month the Jundullah group had killed 16 policemen who were abducted from a checkpoint in the Sistan-Baluchestan province in June.

Tehran has said Jundullah chief Abdolmalek Rigi is associated with Al Qaeda.

“There are documents that show that Britain and America are supporting Rigi’s terrorist group with arms and information,” the radio quoted Ebrahim Raisi, first deputy to Iran’s judiciary chief, as saying.—Reuters
