KARACHI, Dec 13: Eight ships carrying containers, crude oil and imported wheat are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Sunday, according to Karachi Port Trust sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where five ships, Calvin P Titus, YM Inauguration to unload and load containers, Golden Arrow, Sari and Lucky Arrow to load clinker and cement berthed on Saturday after the departure of four.
The ships, which departed included Quetta, Gulf Tiger, Vinh Thusan and Flag Investor, while Banga Lanka, Golden Arrow, YM Inauguration and Johar are due to sail out on Sunday.
A total tonnage of 87,3000 tons, comprising 37,062 tons of export tonnage, including 25,000 tons of cement and clinker and 50,238 tons of import cargo, was handled on Saturday.
The following ships are due on Sunday: Yick Zao, with 30,812 tons of imported wheat, Swat, with 65,000 tons of crude oil, Northern Harmony, Stadt Koin, Bunga Bidara, Sima Pride, China Star and Mol Ablilty, with containers.
The following ships are due on Monday: Eastern Sun, with 20,500 tons of urea, Sima Yazd and Ninos, with containers.
