KARACHI: Two die in accidents

KARACHI, Dec 12: Two persons died and two others were injured in road accidents in different parts of the city on Friday.

Police said that a 10-year-old boy was knocked down by a fast-moving vehicle beneath the Qayumabad Flyover. The police said that the boy died before he could be taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. However, the body was shifted to the hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The boy could not be identified but was believed to be a resident of a nearby locality, the police said.

In F.B Area, a young man died when a fast-moving motorcycle rammed into him in the small hours of Friday.

Police said that Kazim Zarrar, 28, was getting off a car when a the motorcycle bumped into him. He was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he died during treatment. The victim was a resident of F.B Area. The police said that the motorcyclist escaped after the accident.

In Baldia Town, two motorcyclists were injured in a hit-and-run accident.

Police said that Ghulam Haider, 40, and Ali Khan, 25, were on their way on a motorcycle when a fast-moving vehicle hit them and sped away. Both the injured were shifted to the Civil Hospital for treatment.

Suicide

A jobless man committed suicide in Lyari on Friday.

Police said that Akhtar Khan, 25, shot himself in the head at his KMC Compound residence near Khadda Market. They shifted the body to Civil Hospital for legal formalities.

Quoting the family police said that he was jobless for some time and this apparently caused him to commit suicide.
