KARACHI, Dec. 11: Pakistan’s squash great Jahangir Khan has been selected for an exhibition programme titled “Heroes” which will be presented at the Olympic Museum to be held in Switzerland from March 26 to Sept 6.

“You have been selected to be one of our heroes and we would like to exhibit one of your rackets or any squash equipment that belonged to you,” said a letter received on Thursday by Jahangir from Exhibit Project Manager.

Organisers have also shown interest in the video game titled “Jahangir Khan Squash World Championship” and his images during competitions or during medals ceremonies.

According to the details, the exhibition attributed as one of the athlete star system in different eras, has an approach which aims to be historical and sociological.

The athlete star system is a phenomenon which is represented differently depending on the era, but whose mechanisms remain the same; from way back, champions have been role models. This will cover the significant periods and the collections available. The exhibition will come in four modules: ancient heroes (from 776 BC to 393 AD); the heroes of tradition (from 1896); modern heroes (from the end of the First World War); and global heroes (from the 1980s), the message said.—APP
