Highwaymen loot occupants of two cars

SHIKARPUR, Dec 11: Nine people travelling in two cars were deprived of cash, jewellery, mobile phones and other valuables in highway robberies near Faizu bridge on Indus Highway in the jurisdiction of Khanpur police station late on Tuesday.

Highwaymen intercepted a car coming from Kandhkot to Shikarpur and looted three gold rings, two lockets, six mobile sets, Rs200,000 from Mukesh Kumar, Vinod Kumar, Lal Chand, Nirmal and their driver.

At the same spot, armed men intercepted another car coming from Shikarpur to village Ghazi Pahore in which four Pahore tribal elders were stripped of cash, mobile sets and other valuables.

No FIR was registered till the filing of this report.

RALLY: Villagers from 20 villages took out a rally on tractor trolleys and staged a demonstration in Khanpur against the suspension of power supply to 20 villages since last 15-20 days.

The rally was led by Faqir Moula Bux Brohi, Haji Murad Brohi, Nazeer Noon and others.

Protesters demanded early restoration of power to the affected villages and threatened to launch protest drive against Hesco.

KILLED: A young man Sabir Ali Shar was killed in village Ruk in the jurisdiction of Lakhi police station on Wednesday.

According to police sources, five Khoso tribesmen armed with Kalashnikovs and guns took away Sabir Ali s/o Waryam Shar resident of Wazir Shar village from a local hotel situated at Ruk village where he was sitting and shot him dead.

The culprits escape from the scene.
