German envoy calls on Nawaz

LAHORE, Dec 4: German ambassador Dr Michael Koch called on PML-N patron Nawaz Sharif at Raiwind here on Thursday.

Besides conveying good wishes of his government for Nawaz, Dr Michael also informed him of the financial and technical support Berlin was extending to Islamabad in basic education, health, family planning and energy sectors as well as the NGOs working in the social sector with German support.

He said the German government was happy to see that Pakistan had returned to democratic rule.

Expressing gratitude for the German help, the PML-N leader said there was no alternative to democratic process.

He said: “Pakistan is a peace-loving country and wishes to have cordial relations with all the states.”
