GUJRANWALA, Dec 3: As many as nine people, including an assistant sub-inspector, a constable, a factory owner and his son, sustained injuries in a clash between factory workers and police over the arrest of a labourer here in Dhullay Zahid Colony on Wednesday.
Reports said ASI Akhtar Husain along with his team and complainant Rana Kaleem (a factory owner) went to Haji Bashir’s factory to arrest a worker, Shahid. As soon as the raiding party tried to arrest him, the workers offered resistance and got him freed from police custody.
The police and the rival factory men allegedly beat up Bashir and his employees. During a clash, an ASI, a constable, Bashir, his son and other workers sustained injuries. The injured were taken to the DHQ Hospital in a critical condition.
