MIRPURKHAS, Dec 3: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has taken suo motu notice of 78 missing peasants of Bheel community at Nauabad, district Sanghar and summoned DIG and DPO Mirpurkhas on Dec 11 to appear in court.

Social activist Kanji Rano Bheel advocate and Wajid Leghari of Sindh Nojawan Samaji Sangat welcomed the suo motu notice taken by the apex court and hoped the peasants would get justice and authorities would ensure safe recovery of missing peasants.

They said that four out of the 78 missing, including Girdhari, his wife Radha, son Narain and daughter Tari reached here on Wednesday.

When contacted, the DIG Mirpurkhas Syed Zulfiqar Shah Jamote said that he had not received formal letter or directive about the suo motu notice of apex court, as yet.

However, he said if the apex court had taken suo motu notice, he would furnish detailed report and relevant record in the court.

ARRESTS: Police arrested four robbers after chasing them near Jamrao Canal Bridge on Hyderabad-Mirpurkhas road. Robbers were fleeing after looting people on Wednesday morning.

The accused identified as Imran, Ghulam Hussain, Aqeel Baloch and Niaz Baloch were looting bike riders and pedestrians.
