Security guard injured in Rs1m heist

ISLAMABAD, Dec 3: A security guard was shot and injured in a broad daylight robbery of over Rs1 million here on Wednesday, police said.

Three persons armed with modern and sophisticated weapons intercepted the cashier and security guard of a steel mills when they were returning after withdrawing cash of over Rs1 million from I-9 Marakz branch of the MCB.

When the robbers tried to snatch the cash the security guard put up resistance which annoyed the criminals who opened fire on him. As a result the guard received a bullet injury.

Later the culprits made off with the money. The injured was shifted to the hospital for medical assistance where he was stated to be stable.

In another incident Irfan Azam lodged a compliant with Margalla police in which he stated that some culprits stole gold ornaments worth Rs120,000 from his house in F-8/1.

Likewise, some burglars broke into the house of Qasim Zafar in Soan Garden, and made off with valuables worth Rs70,000.

Meanwhile, three vehicles were stolen from different parts of the city.

A Toyota Corolla car was stolen from F-10/1, while a Mehran was lifted from Blue Area. Similarly another Mehran was stolen from I-9/3.
