SIALKOT, Nov 30: Security guard of a car showroom died from suffocation during a robbery at the showroom near Doburji late on Saturday night.

Robbers stormed the showroom and took security guard Usman Nazir hostage. They covered his face so tightly that he could not breathe and died. The robbers fled after looting Rs500,000 and gold ornaments from a cupboard in the showroom.

HOUSES ROBBED: Robbers looted gold ornaments, cash, home appliances and other valuables worth millions of rupees in two hits late on Saturday night.

In Bakhapur village of Daska tehsil, eight robbers stormed into the house of landowner Zahid Tanveer, took him and his family hostage and took away 150 tola gold ornaments, Rs175,000, 9,000 dirham and other valuables.

In Mianpura locality of the Sialkot city, four robbers barged in the house of Nazir Ahmad Butt, took all his family members hostage and fled with 100 tola gold ornaments, cash, home appliances and other valuables. Hajipura police have registered a case.
