Mosque attack victim dies

KHAIRPUR, Nov 28: A man injured in Luqman mosque firing incident, Imran Channa, died in the Nawabshah Medical College Hospital on Thursday night.

As news of the death spread, complete strike was observed in Khairpur city, including main bazaars, date markets, Sabzi Mandi and other business centres, on Friday.

Mr Channa and two other people were fired at and injured while they were present at a mosque in Luqman two days ago.

His body was brought to Luqman on Friday where it was buried in Gunj-i-Shuhada graveyard after funeral prayers.

Earlier, activists of a religious group held a gathering in which they condemned the firing incident and deplored that that no one had been arrested for the attack on the mosque.

DEAN: Professor Dr Miandad Zardari, chairman, department of microbiology, Shah Abdul Latif University, has been appointed as the dean of faculty of natural sciences for three years.
