ISLAMABAD, Nov 26: Shin Jung Yoon of Korea created an upset when she defeated top seed of the tournament M De Lattrea from Portugal in a well contested two set match in the first ITF Pakistan Women Future Tennis Circuit played at the PTF tennis complex on Wednesday.
Shin, eliminated Lattrea in a two set match 6-3, 6-4. In the first set the score went up to two all as both the players held their respective services.
Shin, won the first set 6-2 breaking Lattrea’s sixth game hitting some good baseline shots. The score went up to 4-4 in the second set at this stage as Shin played some good volleys and won it 6-4.
Fourth seed Kim Hae Sung from Korea eliminated A Venkataraman from India with out conceding a single game in both the sets at 6-0, 6-0. Kim will now face compatriot Shin Jung Yoon in the semi-final.
Fifth seed Kolanki Kuamari from India made an other upset of the tournament eliminating compatriot Goswami Parul, second seed, in a thrilling two set match 6-3, 6-3. In the last quarter-final Cenkatesha Poojashree from India beat Shivika Burman 6-0, 6-2.
