The decision to reactivate the lashkar was taken in Badan area where its chief Rehmatullah had been killed in a suicide attack a few days ago.

A large number of Barozai elders, including Rehmantullah’s son Musaffar Khan, Azizullah, Malak Shah Faisal Khan, Malak Gulzada, Malak Shahpur Khan and Malak Bakht Munir, attended the jirga which took the decision to resume anti-militant campaign.

They also started manning checkposts in Dabar, Badan, Owasha, Qandahar Baba, Shah Jor, Shalow, Shinowlai, and Badalai.

The jirga decided to increase the strength of the lashkar by inducting volunteers from other tribes.

It also decided to increase the number of checkposts.
