Rs12.6m uplift schemes approved

MARDAN, May 11: The district development committee Mardan has initiated a number of uplift schemes worth Rs12.614 million in the district. This was decided in a meeting held here on Friday.

The meeting, presided over by district Nazim Haji Raza Khan, approved several developmental schemes worth Rs7.74m at Takhtbai which includes works and services schemes of Rs5.124m and irrigation programme worth Rs1.25m. The meeting also approved Rs67.8m revised schemes for polytechnic institute at Takhtbai.

The schemes approved, will benefit, union councils Bala Gari, Gari Dolatzai, Katlang No 2, Pir Sadi, Mian Esa, and Shamozai.

Mr Khan asked the district heads of the government departments to maintain quality and execute the projects on time.

He added that development schemes would be identified and approved purely on merit. On this occasion DCO, Zahoor Khalil, asked the government officers to abide by the law and regulations while initiating works on various projects.
