QUETTA, May 11: The Chinese company MCC has decided to re- employ over 500 employees including technicians, engineers and other skilled workers for starting the Saindak project. They will be responsible for operating power house and its upkeep.

The MCC team has issued letters of employment to a limited number of people informing them that the operation could begin in a few months, sources said here on Saturday.

Arrival of Chinese engineers, technicians and experts has been delayed due to ban on over-flight by India in December 2001 discontinuing Karachi-Beijing flights, they said.

Now the Chinese experts will reach Islamabad in smaller batches.

The priority of the Saindak Metals is to recommission the 40-mw power house so that the plants are re-run on trial basis. It will be followed by resumption of mining.
